2. How do I search for recorded documents and surveys?: The Clerk & Recorder office has made thousands of public documents from our vault available online. How Do I Get My Montana Birth Certificate?: If you were born in Deer Lodge County or the State of Montana, in most cases you should be able to go to ANY Montana courthouse and get a certified copy of your birth certificate. If you are unable to personally go to the courthouse, fill out the Birth Certificate Request Form . Return the form to the Clerk and Recorder’s office along with a photocopy of your state issued identification and a check for $8.00 per certified copy requested.

How Do I Get A Copy Of A Death Certificate?: If someone died in Deer Lodge County or the State of Montana, in most cases you should be able to go to ANY Montana courthouse and get a certified copy of the person’s death certificate. 5. What Are The Recording Fees?: When recording a document the cost is $7.00 per page. An additional $10.00 will be added for non-conforming documents. Filed documents are a flat $5.00 fee.
